Our awards team joined Barriere Construction at the annual ABC Bayou Excellence in Construction awards banquet where Barriere was awarded two gold awards and a silver award as well as earned the Platinum STEP award for safety once again. The team also helped Barriere win two gold awards at ABC Pelican and an award of excellence with the Greater New Orleans Business Roundtable.

The Brand Constructors earned first place in the national marketing competition, SMPS' MCA (Marketing Communication Awards) for Tradeshow Marketing for the team's work at the 2010 ABC Educational Conference. Congrats to the entire design & marketing team!

Royal Engineering held a week long workshop for New Orleans youth at Xavier University in conjunction with the New Orleans Hornets basketball team. The workshop focused on leadership skills, character building, and problem solving for challenges teenagers face. Well done Royal!

One of the largest construction projects in the country, the Reconstruction of the Huey P. Long Bridge is in our backyard, hit a major milestone this weekend with a "big lift" of two major sections of the new bridge. We found a great video of the lift, take a look.

Barriere Construction wins ABC's Silver Eagle for Excellence in Construction (EIC) in Infrastructure: Heavy for their project Repaving Interstate 10. The Brand Constructors are proud to be part of the award team and help Barriere win their first ever Silver Eagle. The project also won NAPA's Quality in Construction Asphalt Award and ABC Bayou's Excellence in Construction Merit Gold Award

We're pleased to join Barriere Construction as part of their awards team at the McGraw Hill/South Central Construction's Best of 2009 awards ceremony in Baton Rouge. Barriere's Reconstruction of Tidewater Road won an Award of Excellence for Transportation. Earlier in the day, Barriere was awarded a construction award by the the Greater New Orleans Business Roundtable. The project also won a gold EIC award with ABC Pelican and a silver EIC award with ABC Bayou.

We launched the new website and brand for Circle Construction based in Belle Chasse, LA. Circle Construction is a heavy construction company that works in the dirt doing levee construction, flood walls and gates, dredging, canal construction and heavy municipal piping for local and state governments as well as the US Army Corps of Engineers along the Mississippi River Valley. The website showcased the company’s new identity and name change from Circle Inc to Circle Construction.

From time to time, we like to show you what our parent company is up to and their great work. Design the Planet launches one a fun website for Daiquiris & Company with five custom illustrated characters. On the homepage, you pick a character (named after their most popular drinks) and navigate the website as the character. While clicking through the different pages, you will find 1 of 5 clues. Once you find all five clues you win a prize! Check it out, it’s really cool!

The company is a second-generation company that specializes in difficult environments such as hospitals, restaurants, and businesses that need to stay open and accessible during construction.

It was great time at the ABC Louisiana Conference in Destin, Florida and was proud to sponsor the event again. The senior members of our team, Adrienne, Perryn & Rob spent time catching up with friends and learning more about the construction industry as well as spent some much needed relaxation time at the beach. Today we launched the new website for BIS, the sister company to Bertucci Construction Corp. The Brand Constructors designed the logo for BIS with the crane and water to reflect the company’s work in the marshes and coastal areas along the Gulf Coast. The website spotlights BIS’ different services which vary from Coastal Construction to Ship Cleaning to Debris Removal. Our team had a lot of fun creating texture and color on the website that reflected the company’s work in the environment.

Some of the best client photos we’ve seen appear on our newest website, Wilson Marsh Equipment. The company manufactures amphibious excavators otherwise known as marsh buggies. Wilson Marsh Equipment is branching out and focusing on equipment sales to Europe because of the smaller size of their excavators that fit on the European roads and in their canals. The website juxtaposes the dirty landscape in the pictures with a clean, crisp design.

The Brand Constructors recently completed the Bertucci Corp’s website and company image update. Bertucci is a fifth generation company that performs infrastructure projects such as coastal restoration and barrier island creation. With its ability to operate its specially adapted equipment in isolated and harsh environments, Bertucci is the leader in shallow water construction along the Gulf Coast.

Design the Planet is proud to announce numerous clients recently earning the ABC Bayou Excellence in Construction Award including: Barriere Construction, Cycle Construction, Durr Construction, Landis Construction, Gibbs Construction and our newest client Voelkel McWiIliams Construction.

We teamed up with Normal H. Voelkel Construction on the St. Alphonus Church Reconstruction Project which also won an ABC Excellence in Construction award. Voelkel McWilliams won a gold award for their Abita Beer New Construction Project and Barriere Construction won a gold award for the Highway 23 Repaving Project in Plaquemines Parish with Design the Planet prepared award submissions.

Barriere Construction's Hwy. 23 project also won the South Central Construction award and the Greater New Orleans Business Roundtable Construction Award!
